“21 pounds in 21 days: The Martha’s Vineyard Diet Detox,” authored by Dr. Roni DeLuz, is a book which describes a fasting and "detoxification" program. Dr. DeLuz is a naturopath, registered nurse and certified hypnotherapist. She runs an expensive retreat on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. Her program became prominent in June of 2007, when Robin Quivers of the “Howard Stern Show” promoted the program on the radio show, as well as on Larry King Live. She lost 20 pounds in just 10 days.
Basically, the 21 Pounds in 21 Days program is a fruit and vegetable fast, with the addition of enzymes and colonics. Dr. DeLuz claims our world is full of toxins that need to be removed from our bodies in order to make our metabolisms work most efficiently.
