"Dr. Bob Arnot's Revolutionary Weight Control Program"

Foods are drugs that effect mood. Light therapy can reduce carbohydrate cravings. Hard chewing foods, such as high-fiber foods, should be eaten, because they resist digestion and promote the transport of the amino acid tryptophan to your brain. Tryptophan is a precursor of seratonin, the chemical that makes us feel good and suppresses hunger.

Commentary: Light therapy can boost seratonin levels in depressed people, but has not been shown to help those trying to lose weight. There is no evidence hard chewing foods raise the brain's level of seratonin.

Realize those who lose weight and keep it off almost always follow the same strategy: balanced nutrition with portion control, daily exercise and especially important, they find a long-term motivation to change their lifestyle. Honest, inexpensive and long-term weight loss is best achieved through change of mindset about life, diet and exercise. Weight loss is not complicated. Those who make it so are trying to sell you something.
