BioSlim, and its updated version BioSlim Ultra 2000, was started decades ago by Dr. Leichtberg and his medical clinic that was featured on late-night TV commercials. It is now an online weight loss program, which incorporates herbal and vitamin supplements, menu plans, dining out guides, exercise plans and instructional video. The menu program is low carbohydrate, but it has a strict limitation on fat consumption, making it quite different than Atkins.

The supplements contain green tea extract and creatine. Multivitamins are high in Vitamin C, and the program dictates that you must take only their vitamins. Exercise is encouraged. The initial order of the program costs $89.95, which includes a 6 week supply of supplements. Additional 30 day supply of supplements are $39.95.

Commentary: low carb diets and diet supplements/pills are notoriously ineffective in the long term. They tend to lead to short term weight loss, but are not sustainable for most people hence weight regain. Pretty much everyone who loses significant weight and keeps it off follows the same strategy: fundamental change of lifestyle, including balanced nutrition with portion control and addition of regular exercise that people look forward to each day.
