The Cheater's Diet

The Cheater's Diet was authored by weight loss physician Dr. Paul Rivas. His concept is a balanced, Mediterranean-style diet, along with as much physical activity as possible, while allowing you to eat anything you like between 9 AM Saturday and 9 PM Sunday. Lose weight by only cheating on the weekends! Dr. Rivas espouses that following such a regimen will increase your metabolism.

As you can imagine, I have seen and heard of everything when it comes to diets and weight loss schemes, among the hundreds of plans I have reviewed. It never ceases to amaze me where and how these doctors and "experts" come up with their gimmick-laden ideas.

The Cheater's Diet is really nothing more than some sensible advice wrapped in some pretty transparent marketing. It's not a bad idea for a diet, in fact it's smart, but it's probably a whole lot smarter to satisfy your cravings by "cheating" every day, while eating mostly healthy and exercising daily. I say cheat all you want, just balance it with some good old-fascioned calorie burning exercise and sweat.

Anybody who tells you that you can cheat your way to long-term weight loss is trying to sell you something.
