Fat Loss for Idiots Review

"Fat Loss for Idiots," formerly "Weight Loss for Idiots " is an online program that promises you will lose 9 pounds in 11 days by varying your food intake from one day to the next. It claims that altering the make-up of carbs versus proteins in your diet has a positive effect on your metabolism. Cost is $39.

During the 11 days on Fat Loss for Idiots the dieter cycles between a set of food guidelines, while allowing 3 days where you can eat anything you want. The 11 day cycle is repeated until goal weight is reached. You have two options, vegetarian or regular. After making your choice, you then select your 14 favorite foods. These 14 foods are then used to create your 11 day meal plans. The plan is not specifically low-carb or low-fat, but is high in protein. There is no calorie counting or portion restriction, with the only advice given is to eat until your satiated, but not stuffed.

Commentary: Fat Loss for Idiots is simply a scheme to get you to be more focused on what you eat, while decreasing caloric intake and adding daily walks. This is basic, sensible advice. But this variation on such good advice is very restrictive as to your overall food choices, which is never a good sign in the long-term. This much can be said, any diet or weight loss plan with a name like this makes me scratch my head. The obvious insuation is that the diet is easy and foolproof, hence anyone, even a complete idiot could follow it. As long as you need a simple weight loss plan, how about healthy diet and exercise. It's the only strategy that works and is the real weight loss for "idiots."
