Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet Juice Fast Review

In retrospect, I don’t know what possessed me to buy a $25 bottle of juice. I just don’t know what I was thinking. I knew it was a bad idea, and boy was I right.

First a bit of background… I’m not overweight- I’m very active and fit, but I have a little extra fat here and there that I wouldn’t mind getting rid of. Even though I knew that the best I could do with this diet was lose some excess water, that was OK.

The Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet is basically a 2-day juice fast. 4 times a day, you dilute 4 ounces of the juice with 4 ounces of water, and sip over the next 4 hours. You also drink 8 ounces of water each day. You eat no food during this period. Now, as most people probably know, you need to burn 3,500 more calories than you take in to lose 1 pound. You aren’t going to be doing that by drinking juice for 2 days. All you will be doing is losing excess water (you won’t be taking in much sodium, so your body will shed excess water to keep your salt levels in balance).

I don’t know why I thought, for even a minute, that I’d be able to go 2 days without food on a juice fast. It just wasn’t happening. I didn’t even make it 1 day. Around dinner time of the first day, I ate a salad. And you know what? Never in a million years will I allow myself to feel guilty for eating raw vegetables! No way.

Granted, the juice does taste pretty good. But a juice fast isn’t a substitute for food. I was starving the entire day, and having major food cravings. I woke up the next morning, came to my senses, and stopped this juice fast diet.

As other writers have said, the Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet can give you some some nasty side effects. Probably because I only did it for one day, mine weren’t that bad, mostly just rumbling and cramping in my intestines. I’m sure it’d have been much worse if I had gone the full 48 hours on the juice fast diet.

They claim that the Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet gives the body a "vacation by washing away unhealthy toxins and fat, and giving your digestive system a much needed break." From what I have read, fasting like this is a controversial subject. Whether it is beneficial at all, or actually harmful, is a hot topic of debate. I suggest that you do your own research to decide if this is for you.

If you do decide to try a juice fast anyway, please, please please do not spend $25 on a bottle of juice. As we all know, most juices retail for about $4. The Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet juice is a combination of water, pineapple, orange, grape, and some other juices, along with some added vitamins. You could very easily make your own juice cocktail, and take a multi vitamin.
