Fat Loss (Weight Loss) for Idiots Review

Personally, I find the name -"Fat Loss for Idiots"- a little off-putting...computer programming for idiots, housebreaking puppies for idiots - that's one thing. But weight loss is something bound up in physiological and psychological issues, individual to each one of us, that has nothing to do with being an "idiot". Regardless, this is an online program which makes claim to weight loss success that....boggle the mind. Their opening statements - that you're overweight because you're eating the wrong foods, in the wrong amounts, and that strict low-fat/low-calorie/low-carb diets do not work for sustained weight loss success - are fair and essentially accurate. But then they proceed to promise you that - for $39 - you will lose 9 pounds in 11 days if you "shock your body" following a system of what they call "Calorie Shifting". They flatly state that "this diet is powerful enough to turn seriously overweight people into thin people." I take issue with that, finding it to be a rather reckless statement to make, without definitive proof, to people battling weight issues.

As to the "Calorie Shifting", it's a fad diet. "Shifting" is the theory that by mixing up combinations of foods and mealtimes, you will trick your body into increased metabolism and rapid calorie burn. There is no calorie counting or restricting portion size, and you are instructed to eat until you are "satiated" but not "stuffed" - which, let's be honest, can be a difficult distinction to make and could mean the difference of hundreds of calories. So you select 14 of foods you like from their list, (skinless chicken breasts, cottage cheese, fruits/vegetables, very few carb options) and then a meal plan will be generated for you to follow for the next 11 days. One day out of four is a fruit and vegetables day, the remaining days are basically high protein/low carb/low-cal, and after day 11 you have 3 days of "cheat" meals before you begin the process all over again. If you're able to keep your portions under control, you're likely to lose weight on a plan like this...for the short term. This is water weight loss, not fat. With no emphasis on exercise and a wacky meal plan that no reasonable person could subsist on for the long term, Fat Loss for Idiots is just another stop on the weight loss rollercoaster.
