Kashi GoLean Review

Balanced Review

Kashi Golean Shakes are a diet program based on the consumption of protein shakes. They combine whey and soy protein as liquid meal replacements. The conventional wisdom is that soy and whey protein is healthy and is effective at lowering cholesterol, but is best consummed in foods rich in them and not supplements, such as shakes.

Review of Kashi GoLEAN Plus: Man

I went on a Kashi kick for about a month and tried a lot of their products. One of them was Kashi GoLEAN Plus for Men. I liked that the product was premeasured in packets, and that it had--or supposively had--a vanilla flavour. And that it was very high in protein.

The shake is made pretty much like any other shake... Add skim milk, ice, blend... add banana if you would like.

I was shocked on how much it actually made, I got a good 24-30 ounces from it by whipping it on a high setting on my blender. After my ab routine I would make one, and it would last all night until I went to bed.

The Kashi plan states to use the drink primarily as lunch or a snack -- but I wasn't about to use a blender at work for my lunch. So I used the drink for dinner.

Being that primarily I have a CARB heavy diet (not saying that's good...just slowwwwwly changing), it was a nice change in the evening to just have something like a shake as dinner as oppose to pasta, or some big meal.

Overall I was impressed with the product, and how easy it is to use, and the taste. But honestly, I bought Slim Fast and a can of "The Zone" protein powder and will be able to create the same high protein weight loss promoting shake. And I personally find Slim Fast's vanilla much more tasty.
