Lipozene Review

Lipozene guarantees you will lose weight by taking the pills without diet and exercise. Its sole ingredient is the soluble natural fiber glucomannan. Glucomannan comes from the root of the Asian konjac plant or "elephant yam." Glucomannan mixes with water to form a thick, indigestible gel in the intestines that could create a feeling of fullness and suppress appetite.

The fiber was the active ingredient in two now-defunct products, Propolene and FiberThin. In 2005, the company that made the product, agreed in a settlement to refund $1.5 million to customers after the Federal Trade Commission charged that ads for its glucomannan supplements Propolene and FiberThin were false and misleading.

Lipozene is marketed on infomercials and also sold in drugstores. The cost is $30 for 60 capsules that each contain 750 milligrams of glucomannan. Take up to two capsules before three meals a day. Other companies, including Nature's Way, sell glucomannan supplements for about one-third the price.

This much can be assumed with diet pills: they are expensive and don't address the basics of sensible weight loss: change of mindset about life, balanced nutrition and exercise. The real problem with diet pills and supplements is that they have side-effects, which make taking them in the long-term unreasonable. Quit taking the pills and the weight almost always comes back. If any diet pill really worked in the long-term it would be impossible to avoid in our society.
