New Direction Diet Review

Similar to Optifast, The New Directions Liquid Diet was a medically supervised fasting program - 800 calories per day - for individuals with a BMI above 30.

The Federal Trade Commission accused the marketer of New Directions - Abbott Laboratories - with falsely advertising the safety and effectiveness of this liquid diet program. Abbott settled the charges by agreeing to stop running the disputed ads, and to provide greater documentation for any weight loss and safety claims they make in the future.

New Directions shake products appear to still be available online. An 800 calorie per day liquid diet is likely unmanageable for any length of time for most people, but for some it can also be quite dangerous. Think twice before embarking on a program like this on your own if you think that may apply to you.
