Power 90: Another View

A regular on the infomercial circuit, fitness trainer Tony Horton's Power 90 Boot Camp (also P90X) is a 3-DVD set of cardio and sculpting/toning exercise routines that "gurantees total body transformation" if you practice the routines according to Tony's instruction 6 days a week for 90 days.

A purchase of Power 90 (which may be pricey for some) includes the DVDs, a program guide and progress tracker, a meal plan, a couple of detailed fat burning workouts, a calendar, a tape measure and a sculpting resistance band. Criticism of Power 90 tends to really only be superficial: the irritating (to some) voiceovers of Tony, the outdatedness of the music and the eventual monotony of the routines. With regard to the monotony - if you are confined to only doing video workouts at home, don't limit yourself to just one. Get a couple of different programs and rotate them to keep it fresh.

Taking a step away from the "guarantee" hype, the workouts are unquestionably good. And if you commit to these workouts 6 days a week for 3 months - in conjunction with a sensible diet - you will absolutely lose weight and get in better shape. It really is that simple....it's just the inspiration and dedication to stick with it part that's the problem. Find a way....
