Protein Power Pro Review
Protein Power is authored by Dr. Michael and Dr. Mary Eades. Hormone Insulin, released by carbohydrates, causes health problems such as heart disease, high cholesterol, hypertension, fluid retention, diabetes and excessive weight. By keeping carbohydrate intake low and protein intake high, your body will burn fat faster and not feed it.
Pro Review:
Wow, Finally a diet that makes sense! My parents recommended Protein Power to me because they both have successfully lost weight, reduced some major health concerns and changed their eating habits for life! They are both 57 years old and within the last year my mom has suffered two heart attacks and my dad recovered from having a cancerous tumor in his eye. They started the Protein Power Plan right after my moms 2nd heart attack because they knew something had to change for them to be able to see their 2 grandbabies grow up.
The protein Power Plan focuses on changing your body's insulin output because insulin is what carries fat cells throughout your body and deposits them for future use. When you lower your insulin levels you can naturally lower the amount of fat that is deposited in your body. Protein Power also discusses glucagon which does the opposite of insulin- it helps the body use the food and fat storage for energy. Those two topics are what attracted me to the plan because I understood that, and because it made sense. My mom and dad had to begin the Plan because they had major health concerns such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, hypertension and heart disease just to name a few.
Protein Power explains all of these health concerns and how the plan can help the body reduce the risk and eliminate these health concerns.
Protein Power is very healthy even though some nutritionists don't agree with the high protein, low carbohydrate way of life. The plan is based on facts and goes into great detail on how the body's systems work and why eating this way can eliminate some major health concerns and help you to lose weight.
I am 33, have two children, one is two years old and the other is 6mos.When I began Protein Power 45 days ago I was about 40 lbs overweight and ready for a change because even before I got pregnant with my two year old I was slightly overweight. So far I have lost 22 lbs I thought at first that it was too slow coming off (I am one of those impatient dieters)but after discussing it with my doctor, 3-4lbs a week is about as fast health wise as you want to lose. Plus, on Protein Power you are trying to change your eating habits along with your weight loss and you have to see that your body does react to what you eat.I started noticing the inches before the actual weight but into the second week I had to buy a new scale because I did not believe that I had actually lost 10lbs with very little effort and change( besides giving up my daily can of Pringles).Yes you do have to cut down on the sweet stuff and breads and cereals, but not for forever. The hardest thing for me to do without during the first couple of weeks was bread but now I am enjoying it in moderation.
Protein Power goes into great detail about planning your meals, protein essentials, carbohydrate limits and even vitamins to take and exercise to do. It tells you what to do and why to do it. In some of the books it goes into more detail than I wanted -talking about 100's of years ago and what people used to eat and why people lived longer ect. I had trouble because of my impatience and my two babies and husband didn't let me do too much more than take care of them. So if I can follow the Protein Power plan I am sure anyone with the willingness to learn something new and a little determination can be successful too.
