Quicktrim Review
Notable mainly for its endorsement by the Kardashian sisters Kim and Khloe, (who, let’s be honest, lend their names to just about anything in exchange for a paycheck) - Quicktrim is a rather pricey ($25-$50) drug-store weight loss supplement promising rapid weight loss and the keys to a Kardashian-style bikini body. There are 4 QT products: Quicktrim Extreme Burn, Quicktrim Celluslim, Quicktrim Fast Cleanse and Quicktrim Burn and Cleanse.
The Extreme Burn product promises that your food cravings will diminish, you’ll burn up to 8000 calories more per month and you’ll burn calories 300% times faster than normal - basically, your metabolism will be cranking and it sure sounds like your body will be...on fire. (There is no published report to verify this.) So what’s in it? A load of caffeine accompanied by standard diet pill fare like cocoa extract (caffeine by another name!). Bottom line is it’s a caffeine bomb. What does this translate to? For a lot of people, decreased appetite (diminished food cravings for sure) - due to headache, jitters and nausea. You'll shed water weight for sure because you can’t eat and feel sort of sick.
The Celluslim product is a topical “body sculpting” gel recommended as a “spot treatment for stubborn areas.” The proprietary “Thermoplex” ingredient (which is not identified on the packaging or the website) is said to attack cellulite and break down the stored fat, then transport that broken down fat to areas where it will be burned for energy. Celluslim is claimed to speed up fat breakdown by 1064% (where do they get these numbers?), double your rate of fat burning and firm and tone your skin, which will eliminate the “orange peel” look of cellulite on the skin’s surface. There are a load of chemical ingredients in the product, and the bottom line is that while you may find it effective for breaking down cellulite (which will minimize orange-peel, making your skin look smoother and firmer) there is nothing in this product that will make you lose fat. The fat is just redistributed.
The Fast Cleanse product, a "48-hour Super Diet Detox" is one of those products aiming to "help you drop a dress size for a special occasion." You’ll be dieting while taking this product – your meals should be nothing more than fruits and veggies, brothy soups and such – and you’ll take this fiber bomb of a drink four times a day between meals. Will you lose weight with a product like this? Yes – temporarily. A detox rids your body of excess water and waste – always make sure a restroom is nearby – but it does not cause you to lose or burn fat.
The 14 Day Burn and Cleanse is a combo deal, aiming to help you fat burn by day and cleanse your system by night. The “Burn” part of the program hits you with a "thermogenic complex," serving up a whopping 400 milligrams of caffeine - equivalent to four cups of coffee – in two doses. The “Cleanse” part of the program contains the "IsoCleanse and Flush Herbal Complex," a gentle term for a not-so-gentle combination of laxatives (senna, cascara, rhubarb, oat fiber, prunes, dates, and fig extracts) to clean out your digestive system. If you suffer from constipation you may find this very helpful. If you don’t – you’re essentially guaranteed diarrhea. The “Flush” element of the plan is herbal diuretics designed to promote water loss. Note that you’re instructed to limit salt intake for the first week, and eliminate sodium completely in week 2, for the flush to be effective. If you follow this plan to the letter, beware of serious dehydration. Will you shed weight on this plan? Yes – but again, it is water and waste weight, not fat. It will return instantly when you return to your regular life.
In sum, QuickTrim products are typical diet pill fare – a powerful brew of stimulants, laxatives, and diuretics. And, like most diet pills, they are accompanied by instructions to seriously cut calories and enforce portion control, while exercising regularly. Will you lose real weight – real fat – then? Of course.
This product generates buzz simply because the Kardashians – pretty girls with fabulous figures - have attached their names to it. But if you read any entertainment gossip at all, you will know for a fact that all of the K sisters maintain those figures by working out like maniacs (with trainers) and watching what they eat. They don’t make a secret of it. Best advice: save your money and do what the K sisters do, not what they’re paid to say.
