Smart Technique is a package deal that comes with 10 CDs and a bunch of booklets that are supposed to help you identify your behavior type (are you an "emotional eater", etc.) and your "fat habits". Inititally, you'll identify what your behavior type is from the "Step 1" book. Next, you'll read through the "Step 2" book, and you'll pick and choose the behaviors and lifestyle choices you'd like to incorporate into your life to break your "fat habits." From there, you'll select the audio CDs which correspond to your behavior type and begin listening to them for 30 minutes every day. The CDs are supposed to contain "psychological tools" that will go to work on your brain and begin the process of changing your bad "fat" habits and behaviors into those new, better ones you picked out of the book. These psychological tools are working on your subconscious, so without even realizing it you'll begin to make better lifestyle choices regarding diet and exercise and the pounds will fall off, and stay off.

Does this sound almost....cultish? If not that, then at the very least it's scammish. Available online, the Smart Technique program costs over $100. Leave hypnotherapy and "psychological tools" to the professionals, find some good healthy recipes online and start walking or riding a bike every day. Without even realizing it, the pounds will fall off, and stay off.
