Subway Diet Review

One of the best marketing campaigns, ever, the famed "Subway Diet". So effective it's still in rotation, even after all these years. We all know the story: Jared Fogle was a 425 lb college kid who lost 245 pounds in a year by living off of a diet of nothing but reasonable portions of low-fat/low-cal Subway food, and walking for exercise. Jared's weight loss success (10 years now), and Subway's effective marketing of it, has spawned a book, an interactive website, an alliance with "The Biggest Loser" and a global speaking tour where Jared speaks to students about the importance of healthy living.

There is no magic in Subway food, nor was there any miracle to Jared's weight loss. This is a classic low-cal/low-fat/low-carb plan. It's calories in versus calories out - create a sustained calorie deficit, the pounds start to come off. Add exercise, more pounds come off, more rapidly.

The magic, if you could call it that, of the Subway Diet is its accessibility: Subway has over 30,000 locations in 88 countries - they're just as easy to find as McDonald's, so there's no excuse. Their "Fresh Fit" menu and selection of healthy items is fairly extensive, enough so that you don't become totally bored. They have created a "Fresh Fit" menu exclusively for kids. The food is fast, fresh and relatively inexpensive. Balanced, healthy nutrition is the key - no matter where it comes from. In this hectic, drive-by world we live in, Subway is a good stop. And there's probably one down the street from you.
