According to Ukra, tea's ability to encourage weight loss comes from its three main ingredients: caffeine to stimulate, L-theanine to neutralize the harmful side effects of caffeine and act as an appetite suppressant, and EGCG, which causes you to burn fat more efficiently. It reduces your appetite and stimulates your metabolism.

The Ultimate Tea Diet advocates giving up coffee and a basic diet of vegetables, fruits, grains and low fat proteins, along with exercise and meditation. It is recommended that you drink tea all day and incorporate it into your food as a rub for meat or vegetables or as a replacement snack.
