Utah Diet Review
The "Utah Diet" is one of the newer fad diets that came from the alternative lifestyle of those living in and around the eclectic town of Moab, Utah. A desert town populated with an odd combination of '60's-style hippies, artists and conservative Mormons, a variety of odd cultural traits define the town. Certainly one of them is a diet growing in popularity and spread by the mass of tourist traffic that flows through the town, which sits in probably the most beautiful corner of the United States, if not the world.
The diet is basically an organic diet which combines fresh fruits and vegetables with game meat. Nothing processed or grown on traditional farms or ranch's is allowed. The diet, by its very nature is low in fat and processed carbohydrates, which makes it similar to common sense Food Guide Pyramid diets, which any nutritionist or doctor is going to recommend. The Utah Diet is basically a lifestyle diet, based more on notions of what is "natural" and "pure" than what is good for long-term weight loss. Oh, and communing with nature (exercise), hiking and bicycling, is an essential part of the plan. That's easy and convenient enough in Moab, Utah, which probably has the best hiking and biking on the planet Earth.
The Utah Diet is a fantasy for most people out there. So unless your're willing to move back to nature and spend a lot of money on your diet, stick to the basics.
